Heat transfer technology

Heat transfer equipment for oil, gas, petrochemical, fertilizer and power plants, from leading makers, supplied and installed with our own engineers behind every unit.

  • Breech lock heat exchangers

Easy maintenance, Reduced shutdown times, less lost production, more money.

  • Columns and reactors

Distillation is one of the most common liquid-liquid separation processes, and can be carried out in a continuous or batch system. Many variables, such as column pressure, temperature, size, and diameter are determined by the properties of the feed and the desired products.

  • Hairpin heat exchangers

A pure counter-current flow exchanger bended in 2 parts, that’s the hairpin heat exchanger: this configuration can solve problems of inefficiency related to co-current passes maximizing temperature differences between shellside and tubeside fluids. Everytime a temperature cross is required by the process, the hairpin exchanger is the right solution.

Small valves used within pneumatic and hydraulic control circuits to direct, isolate, or protect flow, as distinct from the larger process valves these systems actuate.

  • Light duty fluid actuators

Compact pneumatic actuators for smaller valves in general process, HVAC, and light industrial duty.

  • Limit switches and position transmitters

Devices that sense and report valve or actuator position back to a control system, independent of the actuator’s own control electronics.

  • Multi-turn gearboxes

Gear operators used with actuators or handwheels on valves that need many turns to fully open or close, such as gate valves.

  • Part-turn gearboxes

Gear operators used with actuators or handwheels on quarter-turn valves such as ball, butterfly, and plug valves.

  • Precision modulating actuators

Actuators designed for continuous, fine-tuned positioning rather than simple open/closed operation, used in throttling and control-valve duty.

  • Valve positioners and controllers

Devices that translate a control signal into precise valve position, and provide feedback and diagnostics on actuator performance.

Reformer tubes

Tubes, fittings and assemblies for ammonia and hydrogen reformers, steam crackers and steel furnaces, with the project management to deliver them.

  • Cracking furnace coils

Application Conditions: Service temperature ranging from 700℃ to 1125℃, operating pressure below 0.5MPa. The tube outer wall is directly heated by natural gas flames (including bottom-firing and side-firing modes).

“Our friends of MES in Egypt, despite a quite odd environment as everyone will appreciate, managed two large and significant orders.”

Water and wastewater plants

Water and wastewater treatment for industry and utilities, from seawater desalination to zero liquid discharge. At Remeilah 3 that means 12,000 cubic metres of fresh water a day.

Process and utility packages

Packaged equipment for clean, dry air and gas handling, supplied as complete units, tested and commissioned.

  • Boil off gas packages

Boil-off gas (BOG) inevitably forms in cryogenic LNG and LPG storage and transfer as ambient heat vaporizes a small fraction of the liquid. BOG packages recover this vapor, compressing it and either reliquefying it back into the tank or routing it to the fuel gas system, instead of venting or flaring it, protecting tank pressure and product.

  • Chemical injection packages

Chemical injection packages are skid-mounted metering systems that dose chemicals, corrosion and scale inhibitors, biocides, demulsifiers, hydrate/methanol inhibitors, into a process or pipeline stream at precisely controlled, adjustable rates, protecting downstream equipment and maintaining product specification.

  • Deaerators

Deaerators remove dissolved oxygen and other non-condensable gases from boiler feedwater before it enters the steam system, preventing the oxygen pitting and corrosion that shorten the life of boilers, piping and steam-using equipment. TME’s supply is built on a spray-tray deaerator design.

  • Dryers

Dryers remove moisture from compressed air or process gas to meet the dew-point specification the downstream system needs, protecting instrumentation, pneumatic equipment and process quality. TME’s package supply covers both desiccant (regenerative) and refrigerated dryer types, and its Spares & Consumables line includes dryer spare parts for ongoing support.

  • Flares

Flare systems safely combust waste or relief gas from process upsets, planned venting, or emergency relief, preventing hazardous release to atmosphere and controlling smoke and radiation to safe limits.

  • Fuel gas conditioning

Fuel gas conditioning packages treat raw or associated gas into on-specification fuel gas for turbines, engines, heaters and boilers, removing liquids and particulates, controlling pressure, and adjusting temperature to stay above the hydrocarbon dew point.

  • Nitrogen generation packages

Nitrogen generation packages produce nitrogen on-site from compressed air, using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) or membrane technology, for blanketing, purging and inerting duties, removing dependence on delivered liquid nitrogen or bottled gas.

  • Process gas coolers

Process gas coolers bring hot process gas streams, synthesis gas, compressor discharge gas, and similar duties, down to the temperature required by the next process step, typically using a shell-and-tube design against cooling water or air.

  • Reciprocating compressors

Reciprocating compressors are positive-displacement machines that compress process gas, ammonia, natural gas, hydrogen and similar services, in stages using pistons and cylinders, delivering the high-pressure ratios many refrigeration and process duties require.

  • Refrigeration packages for terminals and plants

Refrigeration packages are skid-mounted systems that provide the mechanical cooling duty needed to condense, sub-cool or hold process and storage streams at their required temperature, a core requirement at LNG and LPG terminals, where cargo must be kept below its boiling point during storage, ship loading and boil-off management.

  • Transfer line exchangers

Transfer line exchangers (TLEs) are the first heat exchangers a cracked-gas stream sees leaving an ethylene furnace or reformer, quenching the hot effluent within milliseconds to arrest secondary cracking reactions while recovering the heat as high-pressure steam. They’re among the most demanding heat-transfer duties in a process plant, combining severe thermal shock with high-pressure steam generation.
