Reciprocating compressors
Reciprocating compressors are positive-displacement machines that compress process gas, ammonia, natural gas, hydrogen and similar services, in stages using pistons and cylinders, delivering the high-pressure ratios many refrigeration and process duties require.
Key Components
- Cylinders, pistons and crankshaft/frame assembly
- Suction and discharge valves
- Cooling and lubrication systems
- Local control and vibration monitoring panel
Applications
- Ammonia refrigeration and synthesis compression at fertilizer plants
- Gas gathering and boosting
- Refinery and process plant gas compression
Track record
TME supplied two ammonia compressors to APRC in Alexandria, with Enppi as EPC contractor and LMF as technology partner, on a project valued at €6.5M.
